I don't know what the miners were doing because they were just running around and when the layer shifted down they started "dancing" by rapidly flipping left and right. But you know what, I really enjoyed it. I got a special satisfaction out of upgrading their gear and watching them have fun while I worked, digging each block. But hey, SOMETIMES THEY BROKE BLOCKS... I mean... they only broke about 5-10 blocks in the entire game... but they tried! The ending was cool, too bad it didn't really twist anything. I was expecting to have to break monster blocks one day to keep them from eating my miners...
It seems like zooming in and out of the webpage effects a lot of the gameplay. I had terrible luck with the miners when my zoom was set to 100%. They wouldn't climb back up to chop another block after they finished the first one, but it looked like they were programmed to do so.
And when I upgraded their speed (I think lvl 6 with the red boots) they became so fast they could not center on a block to break it rendering them completely useless.
Also I could not figure out what the secret Click Radius power up was or how to unlock it.
Zooming out on the webpage itself seemed to be the answer. I set zoom to 25% so the game was ridiculously tiny and the miners were able to dig again and they could climb back up to break multiple blocks after finishing their first one. I think even setting zoom to 75% is enough to get these features to function as intended.
And hovering over the center of the spire (at 25%) allowed my power click to reach nearly every block in the layer without moving.
Anyway, was finally able to max out every upgrade after that. Fun game. For me the bugs were simultaneously obnoxious and a fun mystery to solve.
mine doesn't. my miners stopped working after a few layers, only whenever a new layer starts, but after 1 block they just wiggle and don't run to new places
pretty enjoyable! a few bugs, especially the crafting exploit mentioned by others. took about 15 minutes to get to the bottom but I had a good time. the sounds are very satisfying
The satisfying feeling of clicking and the comical movements of the humans as they dig were both so enjoyable and fun! The atmosphere when digging deeper made me feel excited and nervous, and I couldn't help but brace myself! It was such a fun mining experience, nya~! 🐾
Very addicting! There is a small exploit players can do to make free items. If you craft something, it only takes the cost of the initial craft. You can then switch to a more expensive option like say diamond/iron boots and get those without paying any diamond/iron.
This was a great little game, the visuals and sound design especially stood out to me, and the miners were pretty cute. One suggestion I'd make is for there to be an inventory screen so you can deck them out easily, and of course a little bit of a longer game overall, as I never really got to use the last gear upgrades on all of my miners.
Oh my goodness, this was a blast! I know some comment about the miners being useless but I LOVED them, and appreciated the auto-click (in my desk corner here my hands get icy and it's hard to click fast even though I LOVE idle/clicker/incremental games).
I also loved the "ascend" option! I wish it was easier equipping my lil miners but otherwise this was fantastic 🧡
The game is solid. The miners are only animated. They didn't do anything horizontally, except when going down a level (on the browser). It would be nicer if they actually helped horizontally.
It is suggested that the ability to zoom in should be added for visual accessibility. And we may also appreciate the animations better. The deeper levels become darker. Higher contrast is not required for me here, but it would be appreciated - the current contrast in the darker levels is still marginally acceptable.
I managed to finish the game and ascend to the top again. It is quite fun :)
I installed it with the Itch app, and when I tried to run it, it failed to run with this error:
Unable to parse Build/Web.framework.js.gz! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header “Content-Encoding: gzip” present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.
I also tried to open index.html in several other browsers, but got the same message.
I don't know how the Itch app works, but that's the standard error message you get if you try to run a Unity webgl game outside the context of a web host.
The itch app loads web pages from itch.io, but interacts with them differently than a standard web browser does. The app has an Install button that tries to find and install compatible games from the web page, and when I used it on this page it installed the “Web.zip” package. When I try to directly click the Download button in the web page (instead of the app’s own button) to get “Hollowspire.v.1.0.zip” it says “No compatible downloads found.” This is, apparently, because the download hasn’t been explicitly flagged as being for Windows.
I want the miners to drop their old inventory item so someone else can pick it up. It's hard to equip everyone because anyone will pick up a +3 helm that isn't an upgrade for themself. Enjoyed.
Heya. I just want you to know that if you have a computer that doesn't perform well the miners become useless as they zip over where they're trying to go and just go back and forth constantly.
Fun enough regardless, even if I had to use my mouse alone :/
I deleted the word 'icons'. Is it okay to say 'sprites' then? Anyway, I was referring to the animated images, no derogatory meaning or insult is intended.
Just as a note for future players, or those who are still playing: if you put the mining gear directly on the miner, instead of dropping it, it's instantly equipped and the others can't steal it. Hope it helps!
Unfortunately, that’s hard to do when they’re running around like demented squirrels. It would be nice if you could hit pause when trying to give them stuff.

I'm on a Windows computer with a Chrome browser.
Please fix the bugs! This is a super novel idle game and I REALLY WANT TO PLAY IT
Whenever you fix miners, I will finish the game
download the game, they work perfect in the windows version
mine doesn't. my miners stopped working after a few layers, only whenever a new layer starts, but after 1 block they just wiggle and don't run to new places
很不错的游戏,除了有一些BUG^o^
so in the bottom did we go to the end or the nether ?
The nether
XD!! That's what I'm saying!!!
will the miners do their damn job
Fun game, but a TON of different bugs, as you can read from the other comments.
Guys what do you do for the radius thing
Press alt and f4, thats what I did.
me too
Control and W also is good
Very fun and cosy
pretty enjoyable! a few bugs, especially the crafting exploit mentioned by others. took about 15 minutes to get to the bottom but I had a good time. the sounds are very satisfying
great game but the fact that the miners which already have certain items equipped steal those items from the newer miners is really annoying
Love the game. If it only wasnt so damn hard to give these little idiots their gear xD
The miners can't mine when I have it in fullscreen mode. Not sure why.
Edit: They mine straight down once, but not from the side afterwards.
litterly same cant play it at all for some reason
Yeah I got the same thing

I love this game. Especially the music👍
I absolutely love this concept; great stuff.
Super addictive game!
It took me a while (a whole day 😅), but I had to max out every upgrade.
Highly recommend – totally worth the time!
Same! Only thing I couldn't figure out was if there really was a Click Radius upgrade.

Super fun and simple! Love the look & sfx!
I just get a black screen with the upgrade and crafting options once the first layer is destroyed, i.e. going from layer 0 to 1
Get the same error. Playing on Mac...
Loved this! A fun take on idle clicker games :)
This game is a gambling man’s addiction. Love that I can score and buy and just have fun while mining. 10/10.

Nice music tbh
So the miners can only mine down and not when they're on the same levels as blocks? Mine just run around unless they're on top of a block.
For me this problem happened only in fullscreen mode. When I exited fullscreen they started doing stuff
Yeah, I only played in small screen but it still isn't working.
make it so miners cant pick up an item of equal or lesser value
How does one unlock the click radius? After beating the game once nothing happened other than keeping everything and restarting the floors.
Excellent idle game about mining stone.

There is a downloadable Zip file
that contains an exe version of the game

good to know, should be fixed now! thank you for the info
It does indeed work. Thank you.

Agreed. The miners are moving without digging anything on the browser except when doing down.
I'm on browser and they work fine. They aren't "icons" though. They're little animated miner guys. I wouldn't say they are "icons".
I deleted the word 'icons'. Is it okay to say 'sprites' then? Anyway, I was referring to the animated images, no derogatory meaning or insult is intended.
Purple play symbol hovers in the middle of the screen. Hides half of the field.
Amazing use of music and subtle visual distortions!

Why have a click radius upgrade if it's always maxed??
Seems like no one reported this exploit, but I think in the current state it's a necessity:
1) Start crafting basic sandal
2) Click on desired items before craft finishes
3) Profit
Basically reduces the cost of all items to 3 stones.
Reduces the frustration of miners hoarding good items.
Visually nice IDLE-ish game, love the aesthetic.
Okay, I found a very funny bug, when my computer is on low battery mode, the miners don't jump anymore.
As soon as I plugged the power cord back in, they went to work !
yeah this one is kinda broken, but very fun
